       Gold went higher than our target resistance last week above 1370.00 regions. The market reached 1391.75 on Friday and settled near to this high. Street protests in Arab countries and global inflation pushed the yellow metals to high prices by investors amid uncertainty of economies. We reckon new bullish strength only after the trend breaks above 1400.00 benchmarks. However, the technical outlook is still prone to take a breather in coming week to 1360.00 regions.

       WTI crude prices behaved as we predicted last week pertaining to its reversal up. The market touched its bottom 83.84 on Tuesday but quickly settled above 85.00 again on following day. The market reacted to bullish sentiments after the civil protests spread to Yemen and Bahrain.  This week, we foresee strong supports at 86.00 regions while topside is opened to 93.00 areas once the bull penetrates above 90.00 benchmarks.

       SET Index consolidated from 937 bottoms and traded higher near to 1000 benchmarks. We foresee the Thailand equities will react lower together with Asian markets by reacting to the rate hike in banks’ reserve ratio rate on 24 February. In coming week, the market may test higher only after it breaks above 1000 levels but potential to consolidate on downside is still risky. Do not try to pick stocks if the market breaks and settles below 937!

       ราคาทองคำทะยานเหนือแนวต้านเป้าหมายที่ประมาณไว้ในสัปดาห์ที่แล้วโดยปิดเหนือ 1375  ราคาขึ้นไปทำจุดสูงที่  1391.75 ในวันศุกร์และปิดที่ราคาใกล้จุดสูงนี้  ปัญหาความไม่สงบในกลุ่มประเทศอาหรับ และภาวะเงินเฟ้อทั่วโลกผลักดันให้ราคาทองคำมีราคาสูงขึ้น   สัญญาณภาวะกระทิงที่แข็งแกร่งจะชัดเจนเมื่อแนวโน้มราคาสามารถยืนเหนือระดับราคา 1400   ในสัปดาห์นี้มุมมองด้านเทคนิคัล  ราคาทองคำยังคงมีโอกาสปรับตัวลงมาที่ระดับ  1360

       WTI Crude  ราคาเป็นไปตามที่คาดไว้ในสัปดาห์ที่แล้วว่ามีการกลับตัวขึ้น  โดยราคาลงไปแตะจุดต่ำที่ระดับ  83.84  ในวันอังคารและทะยานอย่างรวดเร็วไปปิดเหนือราคา 85 ในวันถัดมา  ภาวะตลาดค่อนข้างเป็นภาวะกระทิงหลังจากปัญหาทางการเมืองเกิดอย่างกว้างขวางในเยเมนและบาร์เรน   ในสัปดาห์นี้  ประเมินว่าแนวรับที่ระดับ 86 ค่อนข้างแข็งแรงโดยราคาเป้าหมายอยุ่ที่ระดับ 93 หากแนวต้านที่ 90 สามารถผ่านไปได้

      ดัชนีตลาดหลักทรัพย์แกว่งตัวในระดับ  937-1000  จุด  ประเมินตลาดหุ้นไทยจะลดระดับลงตามตลาดหุ้นในเอเชียซึ่งจะได้รับผลกระทบจากตัวเลขการประกาศอัตราเงินทุนสำรองในภาคธนาคารซึ่งจะประกาศในวันที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์  สำหรับสัปดาห์นี้ดัชนีตลาดอาจทำจุดสูงเหนือ 1000 จุดแต่ยังคงมีความเสี่ยงที่ดัชนีจะลดต่ำลง ไม่แนะนำให้เข้าซื้อหุ้นหากดัชนีทะลุและปิดต่ำกว่า  937

Weekly Report 14 Feb 2011

       Gold prices were well resisted at 1365.00 – 1370.00 last week as we predicted. With China raising interest rates, we expect the market to be a little softened for another 1-2 weeks unless strong fundamentals charge the bullish sentiment to go over 1400.00 again. This week, the bears are likely to drill the prices down to 1335.00 regions. We foresee some buying interest will emerge at 1325.00 – 1330.00 regions if the market attempts at these support bottoms!

       WTI crude prices pierced below our supports at 88.00 regions last week and continued to go lower. The market formed strong bottoms at 85.300 regions on Friday with possibility to go either way this week. We suggest wait till end of Monday session to observe the trend further. A reversal pattern will indicate a new upward trend beginning while settling below 85.00 means additional selling may emerge in near term. Recently, crude prices are becoming volatile due to Egypt’s civil unrest. 

       SET Index reached 937 bottoms last week and closed at 949, indicating growing weakness in the Thailand equity markets. Asian markets reacted to China’s rate hike and turned lower in addition to some flight-out interest since early January. This week, we foresee the trend will start to consolidate and move from 950 – 990 regions. However, do not try to pick bottoms if the market breaks and settles below 937. Investors should plan to liquidate their stock holdings gradually due to imminent corrections ahead!

        ราคาทองคำยังคงอยู่ในระดับแนวต้านที่ให้ไว้ในสัปดาห์ที่แล้วที่ระดับ  1365-1370  การขึ้นนโยบายดอกเบี้ยของจีนส่งผลให้ตลาดอ่อนตัวลงเล็กน้อยในช่วง 1-2 สัปดาห์ต่อจากนี้ ยกเว้นจะมีปัจจัยใหม่ที่สามารถหนุนให้ราคาทองคำขึ้นไปเหนือระดับ 1400 ได้อีกครั้ง   สำหรับสัปดาห์นี้ราคาทองคำอาจปรับตัวลงไปที่  1335 คาดว่าจะมีแรงซื้อที่ระดับ  1325-1330  หากตลาดลงมาทดสอบแนวรับนี้

        WTI Crude  ราคาหลุดแนวรับที่ให้ไว้ในสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมาที่  88  และยังคงลดลงต่อโดยปิดที่ระดับ  85.3 ในวันศุกร์ที่ผ่านมา  ยังไม่มีสัญญาณที่ชัดเจนว่าจะไปทางไหน   แนะนำให้นักลงทุนจับตาดูตลาดปิดในวันจันทร์นี้เพื่อดูแนวโน้มที่เกิดขึ้น   สัญญาณการกลับตัวจะชี้นำแนวโน้มขึ้นในรอบใหม่  แต่หากราคาปิดต่ำกว่า  85  แนวโน้มลงยังคงอยู่ต่อไป  ราคาน้ำมันผันผวนมากเนื่องจากสถานการณ์ความไม่สงบในอียิปต์

       ดัชนีตลาดหลักทรัพย์แตะระดับ  937  และปิดที่  949  ในสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว  แสดงถึงการอ่อนตัวลงของตลาดหุ้นไทย  ตลาดหุ้นเอเชียตอบรับนโยบายการขึ้นดอกเบี้ยของจีนและอ่อนตัวลงตั้งแต่ต้นเดือนมกราคม   สัปดาห์นี้ดัชนีตลาดจะแกว่งตัวอยู่ในระดับ  950-990  ไม่แนะนำให้ซื้อหากดัชนีปิดต่ำกว่า  937  นักลงทุนควรวางแผนลดพอร์ตการลงทุนจากการปรับฐานที่จะเกิดขึ้นในระยะเวลาใกล้ๆนี้

       Gold prices well supported last week at 1325.00 regions with a final jump up on Friday after U.S. payrolls. The market moved very closed to our target 1360.00 on Friday New York session and ended at 1348.90. This week, we reckon strong buying interest to emerge at 1320.00 – 1325.00 regions while the immediate resistance is identified at 1365.00 regions.  The trend will still probably move sideways for a while until we see new surge after mid February. Abandon your short-view if the market violates and settles above 1365.00!

       WTI crude prices were very bullish in early last week by making high 92.84 before it simmered down. This week, we expect strong bulls to emerge at 88.00 – 88.30 regions while the topside is capped at 92.00 benchmarks. As the civil unrest may spread to Arab countries after Egypt, crude oil prices could be affected in short-term ahead from fundamentals reasons. In summary, we prefer to pick long trades from bottom regions as market may extend higher anytime after the current consolidation.

       SET Index was supported at 960 and closed at 994 last week. Although the DJIA has been struggling to make post-crisis highs, all Asian indices have turned down with fears planted in Egypt’s political unrest. Investors are advised to exercise caution as the contagion spread may lead to the new global meltdown. SET Index is now making consolidation with topside resistance set at 1020 regions while the bottom supports at 950 regions will be very crucial for a breakdown extension. Investors are encouraged to liquidate your high-prices portfolio if these support regions give way!

        Gold prices reached our projected target 1320 and bounced off on Friday night after making the week’s low 1308.75. In coming week, the market is prone to be supported well at 1320 regions while topside correction might attempt 1360 regions. We reckon the market may trade whipsaw for another few weeks before the bull resurges after mid February. Abandon your long-view if the market breaks and settles below 1320 benchmarks. 

        WTI crude prices reached our downside target 86.00 last week and had a fierce short-covering on Friday. The market closed at 89.57 forming a long white candle bar as strong reversal signal. The market may consolidate this week from 87.50 - 90.50 regions before fundamental factors decide a new trend. We prefer to enter market from bottom extreme as suggested and reinforce short-term trades for fast profits!

        SET Index dropped to 950 and stabilized gradually for few days. However, this has been forewarned by us for many weeks and investors should make decisive exit once their purchased values depleted 10 percent. In coming week, SET Index will be strongly resisted at 1000 benchmarks while moving into consolidation with some bargain hunting. Do not let greed lead you into market purchase once the Index declines below 950 as we foresee a very high possibility in another such decline.

         รัฐคุชราชของอินเดียประกาศจะตั้งโรงไฟฟ้าพลังคลื่นเพื่อการค้าโรงแรกของทวีปเอเชียบริษัทแอตแลติส รีซอร์ซส์ บริษัทผู้รับเหมากล่าวว่า จะสร้างโรงไฟฟ้าพลังคลื่น ขนาด 50 เมกะวัตต์ ในอ่าวคตช ริมฝั่งตะวันตกของอินเดีย เพื่อให้เปิดทันตอนต้นปีหน้า

        โรงไฟฟ้าพลังคลื่นใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก มีกำลังการผลิตถึง 240 เมกะวัตต์ ที่ดำเนินการอยู่ในปัจจุบัน ตั้งอยู่ที่ฝรั่งเศส และยังมีเกาหลีใต้ แจ้งว่า กำลังเตรียมจะเปิดโรงขนาดใหญ่อีกหลายโรง

        เพื่อจะครองตำแหน่งแชมเปียนส์ของทวีปเอเชียได้ โรงไฟฟ้าใหม่นี้จะต้องมีขนาดใหญ่กว่าโรงที่เกาหลีใต้กำลังสร้างอยู่ที่ทะเลสาบชิวา ทางฝั่งตะวันตกอยู่ขณะนี้ให้ได้

        ตามโครงการที่แถลง จะเริ่มผลิตไฟฟ้าให้ได้ 50 เมกะวัตต์ ซึ่งจะต้องใช้กังหันขนาด 11 เมกะวัตต์ 50 ตัว ซึ่งอาจจะต้องใช้งบ ประมาณ 4,500 ล้านบาท.

        Gold prices plunge to our target and below 1350 last week. This week, the market may continue in our downward expectation until 1320 regions. We still prefer to trade short with trailing stops to protect the floating profits. However, the market should not reverse higher than 1360 otherwise mean return of bullish sentiment. In our opinion, Gold prices are still in correction phase until end January before we can evaluate the bottoms. 

        WTI crude prices reached 93.00 highs last week but were unable to sustain at the top regions. The market reversed down and closed at 89.00 for the weekend. We reckon the trend will trade sideways in coming week from 88.00 to 90.50 regions with the monthly target set at 86.00 in near future. General commodity prices have simmered down after rate hikes were implemented in Asian and emerging markets. We foresee both Gold and WTI Crude will complete their corrective phase before mid February.

        SET Index turned down from recent post-crisis high 1056 and traded sideways. The market settled at 1006 that is our support regions stated last week. This week, we expect the market to be capped between 1006 to 1036 regions while waiting for U.S. markets to lead the trend. However, the trend is prone to be bearish once it falls out of the bottom benchmarks stated above. We foresee a high possibility to decline till 987 before another consolidation emerges. In overall, we do not encourage stock pickings once the value drops more than 10 percent of your purchase prices.
